She asks if she can get Sissy a pair of shoes, explaining that their Confederate money is worthless in Woodville. She asks him if he gives his permission for Sissy to take music lessons paid for by Brother Howard. She tells him that Leo and Mollie are to be married in December, but not to mention it because it is a ''profound secret.'' 1864.
