Besides 512 acres of land valued at $4,490, Hobbs was taxed for 1 watch, 1 clock, 2 ''Pleasure Carriage,'' 24 head cattle, a piano, and 39 slaves and listed one white poll for voting purposes. Hobbs paid $122.16.
