Letter (in letterbook) from Thomas Affleck to J.D.B. DeBow of New Orleans, editor and publisher of DeBows Review. DeBow shared Afflecks commitment to scientific agriculture and development of southern publications. In response to DeBows request, Affleck proposes terms under which he will agree to edit the Agricultural Department for the Review. He writes, The fact is, we [the South] must have a monthly journal of agriculture.
