Title:Eugène Dumez letter, 1863 December 11
Description:

Letter from Eugène Dumez, St. Just, France, to Henry Vignaud reports that Maurys letter did not make Michelet favorable to the South and that recent news is not good for the Confederacy. He states that Aucaigne had sent him a copy of the formers Alliance Russo-Amricaine for Dumez to forward to a provincial newspaper, but Dumez has given it to a Burgundian family instead. He relates an upcoming trip to Paris and asks Vignaud to reserve a room for him around the Latin Quarter that would grant free movement and allow returning after the theatres close at night.
