Located near the intersection of Liberty and Perrilliat Streets, the Girod Street Cemetery opened in 1822. In 1957 the much neglected and often vandalized cemetery was condemned, deconsecrated, and razed. The Superdome now exists near the site. See also 3241086 and 3241086
