Title:Gen. E. B. Tyler, U.S.A.

Portrait of Erastus Barnard Tyler (1819-1891), a businessman, merchant, and soldier, brevetted major general in the Union Army during the United States Civil War. He fought in many of the early battles in the Eastern Theater before being assigned command of the defenses of Baltimore, Maryland. After the war he became the Postmaster for Baltimore.
