Portrait of Rear Admiral Theodorus Bailey (1805-1877), a member of the U.S. Navy who commanded the steam frigate (steam-powered warship) USS Colorado which became flagship of the Gulf Blockading Squadron. He patrolled the Florida panhandle and then the Mississippi Delta blockade.
