Portrait of Major General George B. McClellan (1826-1885), who organized the Army of the Potomac and served briefly as the general-in-chief of the Union Army in the United States Civil War. He utilized his experience as chief engineer and vice president of the Illinois Central Railroad and also president of the Ohio and Mississippi Railroad as the Union army mobilized. He was nicknamed Young Napoleon.
