Portrait of John Wesley Turner (1833-1899), a career U.S. Army officer and Union Army general during the United States Civil War. Turner spent much of the war as a staff officer and division commander, taking a prominent part in the Appomattox Campaign. He was brevetted major general in the campaign of 1864.
