Letter from Confederate soldier Robert C. Caldwell to his wife Mag Caldwell. Robert is serving as a private in Company C., 10th Battalion, North Carolina Heavy Artillery near Wilmington, N.C. Robert writes from his camp on Masonboro Sound that he is well, and tells Mag he has bought her some palmetto. He says he will send it to her by a soldier in his unit who will be coming to Harris Depot near their home.
