Title:[Photograph of an unidentified member of the LaGrange Light Guards in uniform, LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia, ca. 1858-1862]
Description:

LaGrange, ca. 1858-1862. Unidentified member of the LaGrange Light Guards in his ornate militia uniform. The man holds a sword which is probably a standard photographers prop used by this particular studio. This is an exceptional example of the photographer's work with the original plate having red tinting on the tablecloth, sash and shako [cost?]ume, and the subject being posed in front of an elaborate hand painted studio backdrop.See trp338-84.
