This collection contains two letters, one from C. Carroll Brown to his sister, Posie Pierce, dated March 21, 1865. The other from "Anonymous" to Mrs. Posie Pierce dated February 16, 1865 informing her that her brother was alive and well in Washington, D.C. Brown was a Union soldier in the 2nd Corps of the Army of the Potomac stationed in Washington, D.C. during the American Civil War.
